Tommy D'Ascoli- The City

In this action thriller about a boy who grew up in a racist area of Northern New Jersey, a heartwarming tale of turning discrimination into acceptance. Tommy, through experiencing the tough reality of living in NYC, learns a valuable lesson in acceptance and compassion. Through twists and turns and ups and downs Tommy learns that he has to use his mouth for good and not evil. Tommy meets a lot of cool people who help him along his journey.

You accomplished the intention, "To show the different slang that is used in urban areas versus suburban areas by having Terrell talk differently with his friends than Tommy" by including different language for Terrell's parts. One example of this is when Terrell is talking to C Rock and he says "You's been holding down this block..."

  5. Abe Ancis: The story perfectly displays the dichotomy of living in the hood versus living in suburbia. This is perfectly demonstrated through the langue that is used. The cover art exemplifies the stereotypical archetype that is expected from someone that lives in the hood or urban areas.
