It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is not your traditional sit-com. Its exclusion of romance, heartfelt moments, and background laughter are just some of the qualities that make it stand out from other shows, like Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and How I Met Your Mother. Actors and creators of the show, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, and Rob McElhenney, who play Dennis Reynolds, Charlie Kelly, and Mac respectively, continue to keep the show fresh and interesting. Their use of traditionally inappropriate topics, like drug use, prostitution, and alcoholism, create a funny and refreshing tone, while other sit-coms continue the same boring, and played out themes.
