My first intention is to create drama through the conflict of the main character’s inability to remember her own life including her friends and family. My second intention is to create a satisfying ending through the conflict being solved through the help of her family and friends. My third intention is to create nostalgia through the use of home movies to help the main character remember her life.
A girl who was diagnosed with brain cancer and undergoes surgery shares her story through a video online. Although her surgery was a success, due to the procedure, she has lost her memory of almost everything from her life, including her friends. She shares how she reaches out to her friends via text messaging in a group chat that started before the surgery took place and continued long after. Thanks to her friends, family, and her teacher, she is able to re learn almost everything from school and her life. While creating the video of her story, she reads aloud the text messages she and her friends sent to each other, to clearly explain the impact her friends had on her memories, and motivating her to work hard to remember her life. After she remembers almost everything from her life, she is able to continue on normally, and live life as she would have. Her friends and family help her remember her life and her teacher helps her remember her school life. While re learning everything from school, her memories start coming back, and she is able to watch home movies to remember everything from outside of school. The people who see her video online, will get a clear understanding of what she went through and how she overcame this obstacle in her life.
She achieved her first intention by creating drama through the conflict. The second intention was about creating a satisfying ending but I think everyone can have a different interpretation of the ending.

ReplyDeleteHer third intention was met though the use of old home movies because it gave the reader a view into her past life

ReplyDeleteWas able to accomplish her first intention. She accomplished this by having her mother going into surgery. The surgery creates drama through the feeling of sorrow and sadness that all of her memory was lost.

ReplyDeleteDrama was displayed throughout the entire screenplay, achieving her first intention. Drama was created through the dialogue between characters as well as the situations the main character had.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the ending and how everything was resolved. Although there was some conflicts throughout I like that in the end everything came together. The conflicts and drama you created allowed you to accomplish your goal.
