Arguably one of the best TV shows ever created, Friends needs to have an ending that can live up to the shows greatness. A lot of people had a problem with the way the show ended, and then in an attempt to solve the problem they created a spin off called "Joey," which was ultimately just kicking a dead horse. Insert "Friends Again." Not a spin off, not another season, "Friends Again" is simply an additional episode to heal the wounds caused by "Joey" and give Friends fans the ending they have been looking for.
Did Ross and Rachel stay together? Did Chandler and Monica like the new house? What does the new house even look like? And most of all do the six friends keep in touch? These are all questions that need to be answered and that is ultimately the mission of this final episode. In the new episode we learn that some of the friends did stay in touch, but not all of them. The conflict is created when Chandler fails to maintain the close relationship with Joey and then Monica fears she may have done the same to Rachel leading her to accidentally leave an angry voicemail.
Chandler takes Joey out to mend the friendship and he then learns the real reason behind Joey being upset. It’s not because Chandler doesn’t call as much, instead Joey is just worried that their traditions are ruined now that Chandler and Monica have moved out. Chandler reassures Joey that the traditions they have could never be broken and then at the end of the episode we see the chaos turn to cosmos when the friends all go to Chandler and Monica’s house for thanksgiving. The audience is now at ease knowing that the friends were able to make up but it is ultimately the backyard football game just like they did last thanksgiving that gives any Friends fan the true satisfaction that they have been looking for.
